As we are coming up to the festive period, I'm going to give you one simple piece of nutritional advice...

If you are trying to conscious of what you're easting this Christmas then check your extras. I'm talking condiments, sauces, dressings, dips, etc. It's these sneaky spoonfuls that can hide a multitude of sugary or other unexpected sins.

This ridiculously simple recipe guarantees zero added sugars. All the flavour, all the Vitamin C, 2 ingredients & 5-10 minutes is all you need.

Key Facts

  • Sugar free
  • High in Vitamin C
  • Super easy
  • Festive food

Ingredients

  • 250g fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 orange
  • Optional - 1-2 teaspoons honey (I don't use any)

Preparation

01

Add the cranberries to a small pan, squeeze the orange & add the juice with 2 tablespoons water.

02

Cover with a lid & simmer gently for 5 minutes, stir occasionally but avoid over stirring to retain some texture of the fruit.

03

Remove the lid & allow to reduce for 2-3 minutes then transfer to a jar & pop in the fridge.

Use within 3-4 days.
