Proper, raw, un-roasted cacao contains two key compounds; Anandamide, also know as the 'bliss molecule' and Phenylethylamine, also know as the 'love chemical'.

These brownies are your sure fire way to stir up some positive attraction feelings this Valentine's Day.

Regular consumption of cacao also enhances blood flow, lowers blood pressure, calms the nervous system, among many more other benefits. So, overall these babies aren't just going to taste great, they'll make you feel great too.

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup mashed ripe banana (~2-3 bananas depending on size)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil/butter/ghee
  • 200g ceremonial cacao (I get mine from Nourish and Glow Drinks)
  • 100g 100% dark chocolate chips
  • 50g buckwheat, brown rice or chestnut flour (or plain flour for non-GF)
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 50g coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 160°C, line a brownie tin with parchment.

Melt the 200g chocolate & oil/butter in a bowl. In another bowl mash banana, egg yolks, vanilla, cacao, salt & sugar together, then fold in the flour.

Whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form then gently fold in the banana mix.

Fold through the melted chocolate gently to keep the mix aerated, then add the 100g of choc chips. Decant into your tin & bake for 30 minutes.

Leave to cool in the tin then refrigerate before cutting into pieces.
